Now we’ve all seen some shocking own goals in our time. Some that are painful to watch and make you feel sympathy towards the defender. Some that are unlucky. Some that are simply hilarious.
However, this slightly unfortunate incident that occurred in a Hong Kong BMA First Division League match at the Mongkok Stadium perhaps takes the biscuit. In fact, I don’t think anybody could argue that this is in fact the greated (or should we say worst) own goal in football history:
And who is the unlucky chap I hear you asking. Well that would be Citizen defender Baise Festus who scored the own goal with a technique that we understand has been branded as a “reverse scorpion kick”.
